What Is The Oldest Civilization On Earth?

The earliest known civilizations arose in Mesopotamia between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers in modern-day Iraq, Persia in modern day Iran, the Nile valley of Egypt, the Indus Valley region of modern-day Pakistan and North India, and the parallel development of Chinese civilizations in the Huang He and Yangtze River valleys of China.

Smaller civilizations arose in Elam in modern-day Iran, and on the island of Crete in the Aegean Sea, as well as the Olmec civilization and the Caral civilization in modern-day Mexico and Peru.

The Mesopotamian civilization of Sumer is officially is believed to have begun around 4000-3500 BC. It ended at 2334 BC with the rise of Akkad, and is the world's first civilization.

The Egyptian civilization of the Nile Valley started at around 3200 BC. It ended at around 343 BC, at the start of the Achaemenid dynasty's control of Egypt. This is one of the three oldest civilizations in the world.

Hi, I think you should add the Mi'kmaq from North America to one of your oldest civilizations in the world. The earliest found to date encampment is from 8400 BC. Google it if you would like, "Debert Mikmaq Encampment" Or Google "Mikmaq Timeline"

As per the latest findings the oldest civilization could be the civilization in the gulf of cambay where there are some archaoelogical findings with carbon dating back to more than 7500BC which means older than 9500 years old. Also it is being said that the civilization which was present in the gulf of cambay could be 12000 years older

Kumari Kandam is an imaginary place. Didn't exist. Neither did Atlantis(which was initially posited as being in the Atlantic Ocean.

Nice Try.

Some of you people really need an education in history. The oldest civilization in the world is Mesopotamia, Sumeria, Akkadia,Babylon and Assyria. Samuel Kramer named this land in his book the cradle of civilization. There is nothing in the world older than these empires....and that is a fact. period

No it is not...pls get ure facts right...
Nice try;-)

perhaps all of you read about gunung padang in INDONESIA.

LOL.... This was interesting but made me laugh. I agree with many of you needing an education in history. The cradle of civilization - Mesopotamia is correct. These others have very questionable dating methods and need a lot more research! As we know, many "discoveries" are thrown out into the public's view before the "so-called facts" are known to be true. Many are found to be an embarrassment to the field once the truth is discovered. Don't jump on the band wagon of bad science. :)

Ones opinion about who is right and who is wrong, is not for anyone to judge in so called facts. Remember that the British and French and many other sects, archeologists did what they did. Some didn't. Some where silenced. Just like the lie about religion. A Multiplied lie to be used for each culture. Instead of fighting of who is right and wrong. Can we all just come together and theorize all of our finding, to make sense of things. I get it, it's a hu-man nature to cause wars. But that's what holds to process. If history teaches us to be kind to the earth. To one another. To teach the future. Why cause wars to be on-top of a none god given throne.

What about the Thracian? The oldest golden treasure found on earth dates 5000 years ago in Bulgaria. Google it, seems no one mentioned this :-)

And also I agree about the city found under the sands of Turkey! Thank you for mentioning this, need to find whether they did some more research there. It was dated 10 000+ bc
